From The President

Happy New Year.
First I would like to thank all of the board members who helped with our holiday activities.  Because of the weather, "Santa at the Circle" had to be changed last minute. Many thanks to Laurie and Gregg Dehoff for riding on the fire engine with Santa so that our young neighbors could greet Santa and receive their gifts directly from the fire engine.  Our neighborhood looked so beautiful with wreaths adorning the light poles and the houses decorated so nicely.
I would like to welcome and thank two new board members. Ashley Zeigler is now representing district 9 and Josh Greaver is representing district 7. Lynn and Nils Lehneis are now representing district 14.  We have all districts represented once again.  Also thanks to Helene Roehm for delivering the flyers for district 14 for the past three years.
I look forward to seeing many of you at the March general meeting.  Watch for the General Meeting flyer coming soon.

Pam Burke
President Orchard Hills Community Association

Community News

Michael and Stephanie Boblooch of Hedgewood Road proudly announce the marriage of their son, Benjamin Joseph to Stephanie Alease Post, daughter of Stephen and Jane Post of Midland, Michigan.  The wedding took place in Holland, Michigan on January 2, 2010.  After a honeymoon in St. John's, the couple will reside in Rodgers Forge.
Congratulations and Best Wishes to Ben and Steph!

Heartfelt thanks from The Boblooch Family for the kind expressions of sympathy extended to our family for the loss of Mike's mom and also our dear friend, Jim.   The cards, calls and visits were most appreciated.  We are blessed to live in this community and have so many good friend and neighbors.  Thank you for helping us through these difficult days.  Your support and prayers mean so much.

Condolences to:

Please let us know of births, deaths, weddings, graduations, etc. for your family or your neighbors.

Congratulations to all the winners.

Pet Reminders

We have been asked by several residents to include another reminder about pickling up after pets.  It’s not just the law (subject to a $100 fine) but it is common courtesy.  Parents, please remind your children of this as well.

Census Caution

With the 2010 U.S. Census process beginning soon, the Better Business Bureau advises people to be cooperative, but cautious, so as not to become a victim of fraud or identity theft.

Eventually, Census workers may contact you by phone, mail or in person at home.  However, the Census Bureau will not contact you by email, so be on the lookout for Email scams impersonating the Census.

If a U.S. Census worker knocks on your door, they will have a badge, a hand held device, a Census Bureau canvas bag, and a confidentiality notice. Ask to see their identification and their badge before answering their questions. Do not give your social security number, credit card or banking information to anyone even if they claim they need it for the U.S. Census.
While the Census Bureau might ask for basic financial information, such as a salary range, you don't have to answer anything about your financial situation.  The Census Bureau will not ask for Social Security, bank account, or credit card numbers, nor will employees solicit donations.  Any one asking for that information is NOT with the Census Bureau.
For more advice on avoiding identity theft and fraud, visit
