No. 110 Orchard Hills Community Association, Inc. January 2013

From The President

Happy New Year Everyone! I hope you had a wonderful holiday season! I, for one, am ready to see what 2013 has in store. One of the reasons that I love living in MD so much is the ability to have all four seasons so I am hoping to have some snow this winter. With the weather, please remember that we need to keep our sidewalks and street areas clean. It is the homeowner's responsibility to shovel their sidewalks and keep the street curbs clear of snow and leaves. Please make sure you are helping any neighbors who may need help.

As far as the community association, we are getting ready for our Annual Meeting in March. As soon as we have the date, we will be getting the information out. Please make plans to attend as it is a great way to get involved and meet people. During the meeting we will elect our Board of Directors. This will bring to an end my 2 year position as President of the Association. I have really enjoyed meeting so many people and getting to do so many things with the community. I encourage all of you to come to the meeting and get involved. I will continue to stay active in the community and hope to see a lot of you out and about. Have a great 2013!

Jenn Fryer, President

Community News

Congratulations to Jenn and Alton Fryer of Cavan Drive on the birth of their daughter Elizabeth

Welcome to our newest neighbors:

the Knights family of Westbury Road.

Condolences

Since the last newsletter, we have lost two special members of the Orchard Hills family. Bob Hetherington, formerly of Purdy Court and Hal Duckworth of Warwick Drive were both long-serving members of the Orchard Hills Community Association Board of Directors and active in community events. Our condolences to both of their families.

Also, our condolences to the family of Emma Uchuck of Warwick Drive.

District Directors

Welcome to Kathleen Taylor who has volunteered to be Director for District 14. We are in need of a director for District 9 which encompasses part of Westbury Road. Thanks to Ashli Ziegler for representing the district for the last two years. If you would be interested in volunteering, please contact Jenn Fryer at 410-296-0060. Trash and Recycling

We have been asked to remind residents not to put their trash or recycling in the street. In the event of a storm (such as Hurricane Sandy) bags or cans in the street can dam up the water flowing to an inlet and may transport the bags or cans to your neighbor's property, possibly breaking the bags or emptying the can or wedging itself under your neighbor's car. In addition, it is against County Code to do so.
